Caroline was sitting in the common room, waiting for the stupid group therapy this stupid place made them do. She sat on a small blue love seat, her feet curled up underneath her. Next to her sat her current plaything, Elladine. Elladine sat next to her, angrily brooding about something, Caroline forgot what. Although, Elladine was almost always angrily brooding about something. At least she made for a good fuck. Caroline watched the other patients, nurses and orderlies milling about. The nurses making sure everybody had taken their meds. One of the orderlies walked up to Caroline.
"Hey, 2225. We have a new crop coming in. Since you have been here the longest, we need you to give some of them a tour and stuff" The orderly said in a gruff tone.
Caroline rolled her eyes and sighed in annoyance. "Can't you find someone else to do it? I have better shit to do" Caroline snapped back.
The orderly narrowed his eyes, in an attempt to scare Caroline, which did not work in the slightest. "Watch your mouth 2225. Do as I say or I'll shove ya into the locker" He stood there for a second longer, seeing if Caroline would react in anyway. Caroline just rolled her eyes at him again and shooed him away with a motion of her chin. The orderly opened his mouth to say something, then changed his mind and walked away.
"So, Ella, how many off these newbies will cry?" Caroline asked, a laugh in her voice and a grin on her full lips.
Caroline was well known around the hospital, and not in a very good way. She got locked up in the locker quite a lot for her mouth and blatant refusal to follow the rules. She also was able to get away with a lot since she was willing to sleep around to get what she wanted. It got to the point where she had a few followers who would help her out in these cases sometimes if Caroline did not want to do it.
Currently Caroline was wearing way to short black shorts and a dark red crop top, that showed off her toned abs, and perfect breasts. Her violet hair was down today and it tumbled around her shoulders.
Elladine watched the interaction between Caroline and the staff pretty closely, laughing a little at the back and forth between them. She hated it here, she wanted to leave. This place felt more like a prison to her than anything else. Initially she had been willing to come and stay, she hadn't minded getting help, but it had been two years, and she hadn't gotten any better. Sure, as they say, many disorders don't have a cure. But the way she saw it, if they couldn't cure her then she had no reason to still be here, she wanted her freedom to do whatever she wanted again. Hell, if they'd just let her leave the property once in a while she'd be fine with staying, but the simple fact that she couldn't leave was driving her mad.
She was sitting beside one of her playthings, although Caroline didn't seem to see it that way. Even Elladine herself had forgotten why she was mad today, she was just irritated with the staff in general. Although, the more she thought about it, maybe it was because they found her stash of alcohol and took it away a few weeks ago. It was very possible she was still irritated with them over that.
She glanced up at Caroline when she heard the question asked and shrugged a little. "I dunno, depends on how many of them see your face." She joked. She was wearing her jeans and a white t-shirt, her leather jacket was back in her room for the time being and her brown hair was messy and just left straight.
Joshua opened up one steely grey eye, glancing off to the side, whilst listening to one of the orderlies as he went about telling Caroline that she was going to be giving a tour to the newbies because she was 'here the longest'. A bit of a smile graced his lips as he found himself ever grateful to her. How often was he passed up for tasks like that because she'd been there just a little longer then he had? If he weren't afraid of her temper he might even go as far as to thank her for being one of few that was locked up longer then he was.
Closing his eye again he shifted in the white seat he was in, lifting one hand to scratch it against his messy hair, giving a great yawn while he did so. He just had to stay awake, appear as though he were paying attention, and he could hopefully make it through another of these sessions. They hadn't helped him yet, but one never knew?
Joshua shifted in his seat, opening his eyes again, glancing around the area. He didn't really see a clock straight away so he couldn't say what the time was. It felt as though the session had been going on for a while but that could also just be the fact that the days sort of ran together for him at times. Dropping his gaze he set to picking at a little lint ball on the baggy, blue flannel pajama pants he was wearing, flicking the loose bit of fuzz away before he set to smoothing down his white tank top, seemingly the most effort he put into his appearance since it was the same thing he'd slept in last night.
"Newbies, huh?" That was never good, it meant getting used to more people. While he was more used to those who were already present that had taken so time. When new people arrived it felt like being thrown into the deep end of the pool when you didn't know how to swim. Still, it happened from time to time so he had to try to deal with it. More then asking which ones might cry he found himself more curious about which of them would stay long term and which would actually get out.
He'd have to see them before he could even begin to make bets with himself about it. Shifting in his chair again he turned his attention to the door so that he could get a peek at the newbies when they showed up. If there were any that were really intimidating he'd just change seats so that he could get further away from them. No reason to risk it.
Caroline crooked her eyebrow at Elladine. "Oh really? Is that why you were crying last night when I had you tied up and helpless yesterday?" Caroline asked, her voice a challenge.
Caroline then leaned forward and whispered sensually in Elladine's ear. "Do not make me do it again, I won't be as nice as I was yesterday" her voice was a deep growl. Caroline bit Elladine's neck lightly before pulling away.
"Also, I get first choice of the fresh meat" Caroline called out to Elladine and the other patients around her.
A faint blush appeared on Elladine's cheeks for a moment when Caroline asked that out loud, in front of everyone. "That was a fluke and you know it." She protested, "You can't do that again, it will be the other way around next time." She added, shoving her a little when she bit her neck. "And hell no you don't get first pick, I do." She countered in that same challenging tone. She leaned in to whisper in her ear "And I will tie you down if you don't concede, to make absolutely sure you miss them." She added.
She did hear another guy in the room comment on the new arrivals, and she turned her attention to him. But he didn't say anything further about it so after a moment or two she turned back to Caroline, knowing very well that the other woman was going to protest and argue with her.
From one entrance of the common room a loud and indignant voice could be heard. It was raining insults down on whoever was approaching with it. Not too long after an orderly entered the room holding on to a struggling patient. The orderly had a tight grip on this person’s arm as he dragged them forward.
The patient dressed casually in black skinny strand with rips on the knees and a gray short sleeved shirt. There was a few red clips present in their hair to push their bangs back. Who could this angry person be beside Patient #8883, Phoenix McNamara.
McNamara’s face was warped into a glare directed toward the orderly, and they finally slapped the man’s hands away. “Don’t manhandle me, am I your bitch?”
The staff member roundly ignored the grumbling and pointed toward the common room. “Take a seat, McNamara. It’s the locker room for you if you try to pull that stunt again.”
What stunt? It wasn’t like it was anything bad. Dakota, who was currently presenting, just wanted to skip past this “group therapy”. Sitting around listening to people made to halfheartedly talk about their problems was boring and irritating as fuck. She tried to skip out on it by hiding in a someone’s room who’s already been accounted for. But inevitably, she was caught.
“Tch, better than being here,” She grumbled rubbing, at her sore arm. The orderly watched her until she reluctantly threw herself into a soft blue chair opposite to the matching loveseat. There was a pair of girls she knew opposite to her but she was still huffy and barely looked at that annoying couple.
She hoped that those new people Caroline was laying claim to did themselves a favor and jumped out the bus windows.
Zeke was told that he needed to go to the common room. They just couldn't believe the number of luggage he brought from his apartment when he was brought to the shelter they thought three was the maximum he has but given his condition, they couldn't question it otherwise he would have a seizure, ten luggage, one for his beddings, one for wipes and his pillows, spare pillowcase, spare toothbrush, spare toothpaste, etc. He had a long meeting with the administrator and he agreed that he would reduce it to five. He shook his hand three times and wiped his hand three times before he finally agreed to go to the common after changing his shirt, which is all actually identical three times.
He turned the doorknob three times before opening, then wipe his hands, and he was mumbling under his breath when one of the patients were looking at him as he turned the doorknob and then wipe his hands.
"Who knows how many germs are on that thing," he mumbled. Then he started reciting the litany of the virus when he was questioned by one of the orderly.
One of the patients was laughing at him when he started to recite all the virus you are going to get plus also he started reciting what he is allergic to. Then Zeke went to the said patient when he saw that the patient miss a button, "I can help you with that. You'll thank me later." he said, and was about to go to him when the patient started waving his arms to shoo him away.
"Get away! Get away from me your sicko!" he shouted at Zeke.
The orderly started to usher him to the common room, "Okay, let's go, let's go. Time to go, you are already late as it is." the orderly said.
When Zeke got there, he wiped the chair before turning, pulling and pushing it three times before he settled, and when he saw that people were looking at him, he looked surprised.
"Well, it was not even. Plus it's dirty," he explained.
It wasn't anyone new that came through the door that Joshua was watching. Instead it was someone that he knew to a degree, at least as well as anyone could know someone like that. He watched as they got pulled into the meeting that they had been attempting to skip, getting the threat of the 'locker' tossed their way as well.
Giving a smile as he watched he said, "Instead of betting on newbies I think we should make bets who is gonna end up in the locker first." A comment that was half to himself, as though he was making the bet with himself and the alter he knew was there lurking somewhere inside him. It was hard to say which it might be because it tended to depend half on the patients themselves and half on the mood of the orderlies that day. If they didn't want to deal with someone in particular it seemed as though it was just easier to 'put them away' for a while.
Glancing between the one who was now sitting across from Caroline and Elladine. With them right across from each other at least it made it easier to watch them, to see if either of them did anything note worthy. He also glanced toward the orderlies present, waiting for them to make their moves as well. It was a bit like a slower, more boring game of chicken.
Something made more interesting as another person arrived through the door to join their meeting. Now this one, unlike the others in the room, Joshua knew very little about him. He was new, he was a little loud, and it had him sitting up a bit more upright in his seat showing that he was uncomfortable at the moment. Maybe he should cause a commotion to get himself put in the locker, at least that way he could completely avoid dealing with the wave of new people that would be coming today?
After a few moments of brooding and staring at her nails Dakota seemed to get over it for the most part. She changed her position on the chair, pulling her feet up on the chair and tucking them underneath her. Since she was trapped here for and an hour and a half she may as well get comfortable.
The guy in the white chair drew her attention when he spoke. Even though he wasn’t really talking to her she got the urge to reply anyways. She remembered this guy, when she first met him she though he was cute and might be fun to hang with or even fool around with. She hadn’t yet done it cause he wasn’t the easiest to get close to, and overall just seemed like too much effort. She thought the same for a lot of the semi-attractive, or even passable, men here. He was, however, useful as eye-candy.
She opened her mouth to reply but was interrupted by a chair scratching against the floor as it was moved by someone. This someone who just arrived wiped his chair down and said his piece as she watched on skeptically. Now here was another nice looking, but crazy, guy. “Even if you wipe it, the germs won’t just go away. They’ll just crawl the fuck back on the chair or up your feet, you know.”
After saying so to the new arrival her eyes went back to Joshua, who was noticeably more tense than before. “I was gonna say Ella, but now my money’s on you.”
Elladine laughed a little when Joshua mentioned betting on who would get to the locker room first, and she shook her head. "There's no fun in that, since we'd all just vote for ourselves then purposefully get thrown in to win the bet." She playfully replied. Although, as Dakota mentioned that she was her first choice for being most likely to win the locker room she pretended to be impressed and honored, as if she won some award. "Really? You think I'd win that one, I am honored." She smirked a little before elbowing Caroline. "Ya see? Even the people here like me more than you. I win on all fronts." She teased. Although, someone entered that she didn't quite recognize. There were a good number of people in the building but someone like this she surely would've known, but the newbies were not here yet, she watched Zeke for a moment, wondering where this mysterious guy came from.
"I can't be locked up in a room, I'm claustrophobic," he said, fidgeting in his seat as he looked at the girls who were talking. He kept moving around in his chair that he almost fell off it, he was trying to wipe the armrest of the chair he is sitting on. He started to mention again the things he is allergic to and things he doesn't like, and one patient snorted.
"I never heard anyone allergic to ketchup before." one patient commented. "Well, it is only a certain brand. " he pointed out and the patient continued to laugh, "Still it's just ketchup." they insisted.
He started to jiggle his leg, and tap his palm on his thigh and hum a beat under his breath. He stopped to look at one of the orderlies and tried to get their attention, "Just so you know I only drink Sierra Mist bottled water, if this place doesn't have any, I have the number of my supplier, though they would hang up when I call, but you can tell them it's for me, Zeke Jackson, they know the size of bottle I particular like." he added.
"It would be tempting to get tossed in there if only avoid all the newcomers... but I think they would likely see it coming from me." Joshua mused. As such he'd have to bet on someone else. It was a tough call since both Caroline and Dakota seemed as though they could be a good bet. The new guy... he seemed strange, doing and saying all sorts of weird things, but he didn't strike him as the sort that would get himself locked up for his antics.
Would they lock him up if he actually had the claustrophobia that he mentioned? He supposed it was all dependent upon the orderlies involved. After a bit of thought he said, "My money is on... you." He pointed to Dakota. Not that he had any money, why would he? Still, he felt he shouldn't bet on the same people that others were picking since that would make him appear as though he were just following suit. As such he'd pick Dakota.
Joshua shifted so that he was sitting cross legged in his seat, arms crossed over his chest, the fingers of his left hand tapping against his right arm. He was of a mind to turn his chair completely around so he could better see the door... or better yet he could turn himself around completely in his chair! That way he could sit on it backwards and get to look over the back. It would make for a good shield to hide behind in that case. Something to consider if the new load of people was too big for his liking.
The orderly looked down at Zeke "Well, if you're claustrophobic then that's a pretty good reason to stay out of trouble, right? You won't get sent there as long as you don't cause any trouble." He answered. "And I will inform the higher ups to look over your records and check if they have anything in place for your water. They probably have something set up already." He replied.
Elladine laughed and shook her head. "People only like you because you sleep with them. The moment you close your legs all your extra benefits go away." She teased.
[Maximilian, Tara, and Sybil entering from The Bus]
A moment after the doors finally opened and a few of the orderlies lead in a group of twenty newcomers. Among them was Maximilian, Tara and Sybil. The smaller of the two girls quickly scurried off to the furthest back corner of the room to find a seat as far from everyone else as possible with her back up against a wall. Seemingly unnoticed by the orderlies who turned to the group of newcomers and gestured for them to all go to the front of the room, where they'd be standing in front of everyone. "Alright all of you, go introduce yourselves. You may take your seats after your introduction." The orderly instructed, standing beside the group of newbies to ensure that they all went to the front.
Maximilian didn’t make a fuss when he had to get off the bus, it just felt good to stretch his legs. No need to make a big scene since he would just leave in a few days. This would be like a vacation, only surrounded by crazy people. So basically a normal vacation. He looked around as they walked into the large building. This place seemed nice, but it didn’t exactly appeal to his taste.
He entered the Common Room with his hands buried deep in his pockets, eyeing the people through orange-tinted sunglasses as he took a few confident steps. His hands left the cozy confines of his pockets as he began to adjust his shirt and hair. It had to look perfect.
He scoffed a little at what the orderly said, and took a step toward the group sitting in the circle of chairs. “I’m Maximilian. I’m not gonna stay very long.” He smirked and glanced over the group. He didn’t expect to see so many hot people here, that was a pleasant surprise.
“Unless being insanely hot has suddenly become a disorder, because then I’ll never get to leave.” With a smug chuckle he sat down in one of the empty chairs, crossing his legs as he did. They didn’t look at his scar, did they? He crossed his hands over his chest in an effort to hide the scar, that was already hidden behind his black shirt.
He smiled toward the closest person, which happened to be a blonde with red clips in their hair. “Seems like you’re all having a good time.” Maximilian said in an overly sarcastic tone.
Caroline was about to respond with a very vulgar response which would have gotten her thrown into the locker room immediately when the newbies came in. Caroline stood up and after smirking at Elladine would walk over to inspect the newbies. She would openly check them all out, winking at a few of them (Maximillan and Tara) before seeing Sybil try to hide.
"Hey you in the dress and the cute ass trying to hide. Come over here and sit with me and my bitch" Caroline called out, Elladine of course being the bitch Caroline was referring to.
At Joshua’s bet Dakota brought a hand to her heart, as if really touched. “I won’t let you down, coach.”
She said that, as she had a built up a nice number of visits to the locker room already in her year and a half at Begonia Falls. It was easy to tick the orderlies off enough to get thrown in there. Honestly though, she was attempting to avoid that place more so now.
Recently, there was a sticky note placed above her bed that politely warned that if her visits to the locker room exceeded a certain amount in a month they would then request the orderlies to buzz-cut their hair off. The note wasn’t signed, but it was written in a neat slanted cursive so she could pretty much tell who it was from. She wasn't sure if he was joking but she didn’t want to risk it either.
While she was about to agree with Elladine homage was instead interrupted by an orderly speaking and, soon after, the newbies poured into the room. One guy with a smug introduction even sat next to her.
When he spoke she rolled her eyes, this was a mental hospital not a frat house, so how much fun could it be? “Oh yeah,” she agreed, in a similarly sarcastic tone. “Nothing but fun at the falls, tacos on tuesdays and an orgy every other saturday.”
She turned to look closer at the guy, sweeping her eyes over his face and body. All in all, she thought he had a pretty nice look. “So not gonna stay long, huh? What are you in for? Wait, lemme guess-” Dakota fold her hands together and tucked them against her cub, pretending to think hard.
“Anger Management. Or, oh, obsessive working out?”
"Um, excuse me?" Elladine piped up, but she remained in her seat, not really wanting to get a grab at the new people badly enough to compel her to get up and look them over. "We all know you're the bitch hon."
The orderlies were pretty clearly irritated with the two of them, but they had been around for so long that the orderlies knew they needed to pick their battles. This one wasn't worth fighting.
The moment she was called out Sybil's eyes widened and her entire face turned a very bright shade of red. "U-U-Um, n-no thank you. I-I'm good over here."
Caroline turned and smirked at Elladine. "I may be a bitch, but everyone knows that you are MY bitch. Get the difference sweetie?" Caroline gave her one last wink before turning to Sybil.
"Nope you are to cute to be sitting all on your lonesome. Get that cute little butt over here or I will make Hans over there drag you over here" Caroline said, nodding her head towards one of the orderlies. She gave the guy a wink and he blushed and grunted.
