Name: Janus Grayson
Age: 19
Height: 5'10
About: Art student. Quiet and rather withdrawn Janus prefers his own company and that of his paints. His past is not well known but he is the son of a single mother and struggled with depression. Mother was a professor of ancient history, hence his name and she believes that life is just a gateway.
--------

The day was bright and warm. Overhead the azure sky was free of clouds and the air was warm with the edge taken away with a gentle breeze that rustled the trees that lined the walkway to the college doors.

The building was old and a lot of work and effort had been put into keeping the architecture as original as possible and preserving the grounds and history.
For the most part it had been a success and the sandy walls had spanned the years, taking in and producing what they felt were only the best until the states opened the gates for the less effluent to attend.

Janus fell somewhere in between. His family wasn't exactly wealthy but they weren't poor as church mice either.
A student of art his mother had saved well over the course of her teaching career and had been left a decent sum from his late father. It meant even on part time hours they had enough to live comfortably and with the help of a scholarship he had gotten into a decent college.

In truth this had been his second choice. The first had been more affordable and closer to home which meant not having to live in the dormitories but after finding out the person who had made his life a misery all through high school had been going...well. It had been a no brainer.

Blue eyes looked back over his shoulder at the expansive grounds and the greenery about them. He gave a small, nervous smile. There were at least a lot of places to work and who knew, maybe he'd actually come across someone he could get on with this term.

He stepped aside to allow two chattering females past, holding the door as he did so. The one nodded in brief acknowledgement without missing a word of her conversation.
Following them in he checked the paper for the room number. He felt a slight wave of nausea but swiftly swallowed. First days were always nightmares...even if this was just the start of a new year.

He swung his leather rucksack back onto his shoulder and headed down the lilac corridor, his footsteps echoing along with the others towards the room on the right, thankful for to see he wasn't the first there but wasn't the last either.

E͜͠r͜͠i͜͠c͜͠h͜͠ G͜͠l͜͠a͜͠s͜͠s͜͠

Erich, 20 years of age, had always loved his mother very much, to a young man, she is everything, he believed in her every word, and trust her that she would not betray him or abandon him. But he woke up one morning and his whole world was turned upside down. His mother is gone, she died of an ailment, for a young Erich, it was his first abandonment. He grew up in this big mansion, and his mother was the governess for the children of the clan. They were old money, and the hired help was considered to be persona non grata, should not be seen especially heard, their opinion holds no value and their presence is a nuisance even an ornament in this sprawling mansion has more value than their worth. And Erich grew up with the knowledge that he can never be considered more than anything but the son of the governess, which means he is worth not even the dirt of their shoes. He wishes his mother had left things the way it is. But on her deathbed, she told him things would be looking up for him from now on. And he felt he was cheated of the chance to get angry or to even speak his own opinion and ever since that fateful night, he had resented the only person he had ever love with his entire being.

Growing up, a father figure was never ever mentioned, all he was told that he died. He can accept that. And he wished his mother had left it at that, had given him the freedom to choose his path, and what he really wanted to do with his life. But because of his mother, his life was altered, and he can never get back the person he had lost or the person that he was ever again. He would not be anything else but Erich Simpson Glass.

At a young age of twenty, he had learned his place but after his mother's passing, things change. At first, he can understand their resentment, their anger and their treatment of him. After all, they all grew up together, though, when they were younger, the class was not ever been an issue. They would share their toys with him, play with him, and on occasion, he gets to dine with them like he was part of the family. But now, because of the secret that his mother had revealed before she passed, his whole world shattered completely. He did try to question it when they were older, but he didn't expect the answer they would give him.

He discovered his real father has always been close by, and now he realized why the old man had always been nice to him. Had always make an exception only for him, and sometimes it had caused friction with the other children of the other hired help. When his mother told him, that he is one of them, at first he thought she had gone mad and had been spouting delirium on her deathbed. But after her burial, he thinks he was still in shock when his things were brought up to the mansion, and his father had called him to his study and there he is with the man whom he knew as the man's lawyer. He is still not used to the idea of his mother's employer being his father, but he had ecstatically acknowledged him, and he was thrilled he said that he can finally do right by him, and this is one of them, that is why he was "summoned" he is now officially included in the family tree, Erich Glass, that is his new name now, from Erich Simpson. He is now, Erich Glass, he was enrolled now in one of the prestigious school in the country, luckily for Erich's point of view, he only has one "sibling" to worry about, and to ease the tension, Samuel Glass has always been nice to Erich, though now they developed a barrier between them, Samuel hasn't shown any resentment to their newly "acquired" brother or rather newly "acknowledged" brother still there is now a gap between them, when they would pass each other in the halls, Samuel would just look at him like he wasn't there at all. For Erich, that is better than being shamed for something, he never asked for or even wish for himself in the first place.

He was actually glad that his father had told him he can stay in a dorm, the tension in the mansion has been running him ragged, and he had lost a lot of weight. Though his demeanor hasn't changed, they developed resentment towards him when he was scolded by their own father for calling one of his brothers, "master" since he had always used to call them as such all his life, he was told that he is now a Glass, he should get used to being one of them. So easy to say, but very hard to accomplish.

He looked up when the door to the room opened, he was told that there would be another student rooming with him. He is not used to this kind of lavishness or luxury since he is used to sleeping under the stairs of the main house, there is a little storage space there that the late Mrs. Glass has said can be his room. He had outgrown that room and had always been staying at the male hired help quarters until he was summoned and all his things were moved to a proper room in the main house.

He was still absorbing everything that has been happening, even to the verge that he wanted to just run away from all of this. But then, he couldn't resist the offer, to go to college and earn a degree, he can finally get a decent job, but with the circumstances now, he was sure there would also be some more resentments coming towards him in the future. He tensed up a bit, wondering if by some weird twist of fate that they also sent one of his "brothers" to check up on him.

Janus looked at the letter; Room 8. He had a vague idea of where it was, remembering it faced the old bell tower, long since sealed off.
Apparently the brickwork was bad but like all such logical explanations it opened up a goldmine of ghost stories. Tales of murders and accidents that left a host of dangerous or mournful spectres.

Ghosts actually concerned Janus less than humans. A good thing since most students liked to spook the newcomers with urban legends of haunted rooms, normally the one they had been placed in.

He turned and headed down the corridor until he saw a plaque with the number eight engraved in it, pushing open the door with his hip he looked about.
The room smelled fresh and clean. Everything polished and tidy, neatly coordinated in shades of blue. Hopefully it would remain that way, it wasn't that big, consisting of the two single beds and desks. A small shower room added in a space the size of the closet that stood by it.

He gave a small but hesitant smile towards Erich. An only child he was unused to sharing his space with anyone. But single rooms cost far more and on a partial scholarship he couldn't ask for one anyway/

"Hi...nice to meet you," he said quietly as he moved over to his side of the dorm.

Dropping the bag gently onto the scratched surface of the desk he sat down with a sigh. He looked out of the window and at the more cheerful day outside as he slowly pulled out the various items he'd packed haphazardly. He still had an hour before first class but he was never the most organised.
He looked down as he came to the sketch book, flicking through some of the older pieces. Whilst he wouldn't admit it he had talented hands, his work was detailed well and having taken the time to get every feature correct to the best of his ability. And it aided in taking his mind from things he didn’t want to linger upon but it could only help so much.

There was a soft rattle in the bottom of his bag, looking his in he rolled his eyes.
He had purposefully meant to leave the antidepressants at home, he hadn't needed them for months and had hoped he wouldn't need them again. But his mother, bless her, had of course added them, along with a stern note reminding him of them.

He looked about for a safe place for them but the only place he could think of was stuffed under the mattress. It wasn't the greatest but it would have to do. At least he could be fairly certain no else would go under there, why would they want to?
But with someone else here he'd have to wait until he was on his own, no way did he want anyone to see. He looked back up.

"Names Janus...I guess you're new as well?"

It was a lousy start but at least it broke to ice.

Erich almost jumped as the door crept open with a creak, stories about this particular room echoed back to him, Sam said that a student died and killed himself in this particular room, and every school opening he was known to visit that said room. When Janus appeared he thought of him as an apparition at first probably because of his distinct color of hair, Sam used to scare him of those stories, he didn't budge and he paled for a few seconds when the student walked to the other bed and started unloading his stuff. He had finished unpacking his he was there hours ago, couldn't wait to get out of the mansion and be free from the dagger looks and snide comments from his "brothers".

"Erich. Glass." He croaked, he cleared his throat, he still needs to get used to his new last name, he said it again, it has been a while that he tried talking normally, and get used to being around other people. "Erich." He repeated a little louder. He touched his stomach, he felt a little nauseous probably because he didn't eat breakfast let alone have coffee since he was so eager to get out of there. The chauffeur wanted to drop him off and help him carry his bag, but he could tell he wasn't too thrilled of the idea that one of his former roommate and co-worker is now sitting in the passenger side of the limo and addressing him as master. But Erich can tell, and he wanted to explain, but once the secret was out they almost lynched him before he was summoned to the main house, they would bully him, get rough with him and sarcastic, calling his mother a whore. That they are nothing but gold diggers, he resented that, but in the back of his head, he had been thinking they might be right, his mother was a whore, and he was probably was conceived even when the real Mrs. Glass was still alive.

"D-Do you know the nearest cafeteria around here?" He asked he knows he needed to figure out his classes, but his clammy hands and growling stomach was telling him he should eat first or he wouldn't make it to his first class at all.

"I-I'm a journalism major, they told me it was just behind the bell tower, but is there a cafeteria near it? I won't be starting class until this afternoon." He added, fidgeting with the tail end of his shirt, he wiped the cold sweat on his brows. He was too fearful that he might see Sam, though Sam is a Commerce student, he still thinks that they might have classes together.

Janus slowly put the various books in a tidy pile on the desk, he could never understand why they had to make these text books so damn heavy.
Wasn't paper supposed to be light?

He flicked covertly through his sketch book, pausing on the last page where had drawn a heart frame in a beautiful Celtic style, surrounded cut out photo of a handsome male model.
It was best to keep that hidden and quietly he pushed it back in the bag.

"Cafeteria? Uhm...let me think, I can't say I've been paying much attention and I really should," he pondered the layout in his mind quickly. His brow furrowing in thought before he spoke again. "I think it's past the gym but don't quote me on that. My sense of direction is awful."

He looked about. The room felt oddly uncomfortable. Granted it was not going to feel any better, in fact Janus had the feeling that this was the best it would get and spending as much time as he could away from it was the wisest idea.
He moved to grab his pencil, deciding to head outside for a while, he offered a small smile.

"I was going to sit out for a bit before class if you want to come? Can at least see where things are I suppose?"

He got the feeling Erich, rather like himself, was socially awkward. The least he could do was try. And if the other was interested in journalism then perhaps it would help?

Erich got up from the bed, a little awkwardly when Janus offered that he can walk around with him. "Okay. Thank you." He said, smiling, or what he considered was a smile. It has been so long, to try to act more normally but due to the way he was treated by everybody except for his assumed father, he was the only one who had treated him like he had always treated him, though now more than usual since he is now confirmed a son or related to him now.

He patted his back pocket to be sure he got his wallet on him. One assuring thing his father never forced anything on him. He wasn't given any large amount of money but for him to terminate his services to his family is a must not an option, his father said he is no longer one of the hired help, he can consider just giving him an allowance he is comfortable with but he would not have one of his sons being a caretaker, he is a Glass now, that is what he was told.

"Getting familiar is a good idea. And a company is welcomed." He said, and this time his smile was more genuine, as he fallen ease to now talking normally to this stranger whom he would be sharing a couple of semester with, he decided he should try to get along.

His eyes would dart from side to side, though his head was aimed in one direction, still, he was well aware he might be bumped into Samuel, he was pretty he distinctly remember most of the divisions of buildings are close to each other, so Commerce might be just around the corner.

He turned to his new companion again. Observing him, sizing him up. But he was glad that he is not from the same household, that is a relief, maybe he would treat this one normally unless he is friends with one of his brothers.

"Just don't get mad at me if we end up lost for hours," Janus said with a soft chuckle, pulling his bag onto his shoulder, darn, he was going to end up lopsided if he carried this around all the time. Someone needed to invent hover bags. "I'm an art student so that's my excuse."

It was a daft one. Technically he should be good with layouts. Well, he was, but only doodling them.

All the corridors looked the same, the only differences being the numbers on the doors. Occasionally another student passed, looking at them but never speaking.
Same old, same old.

He pushed open the door to the outside, holding it open for Erich. The main building with the gym and myriad of other rooms was across the gravel courtyard, a few weeds penetrating defiantly through.

"I think the cafeteria is around here somewhere," Janus said as he looked across to the expanse of green, gauging the prospects for sketching "uhm...how'd you get into journalism? If you don't mind me asking?"

Erich took a moment before he replied, he bit his lower lip. He can ignore him all semester, after all, he is a stranger. He doesn't need to be close to them. But he needed someone, someone who is not related to him in any way.

"I had worked for a big mansion, this is almost the same, all the layout the same, rooms the same, even people sometimes is the same, " he said with a chortle, although it was meant to be a joke he knew it to be a sarcastic one. "I just got to get out of that room it's suffocating."

And before he can continue, the inevitable happened when he turned he ran smack against Samuel, he turned white, his lips quivered, and he stuttered, "Ma-Master...I mean Samuel." He said Samuel sent him death glare he was with his friends.

"Whoa, who is this?" One of them asks the other started snickering and whispering to each other and laughing again.

"Hey, Glass. You in some fraternity without inviting us?" One of them piped in. The others started laughing, Samuel just glared at them and then turn his wrath on Erich.

"What did you just call me?" He asked, fisting a handful of Erich's shirt before he let go and push him aside and Erich bumped into Janus.

Samuel's friends were asking who he was all Samuel did was sent him death glares and ignored their questions. Meanwhile, Erich bowled over and clutched at his stomach and crouched down to the ground. He was sweating and his stomach hurt more than usual. He looked up at Janus.

If they can meet like this so soon, he needed to find a different route to get him to his classes without bumping into Samuel or maybe he can ask his father if he can transfer. The thought of asking his former employer turned father for favor seems like a death sentence so he decided to find some other alternative route.

Angry tears rolled down his face, he had been keeping it bottled inside, "Y-You want to know why I chose such a boring course? He is one of them, all of them had taken all the courses, I got no other choice but to choose one thing that can finally be my very own." He slowly got up, he pushed Janus aside. "I think I'm going back to the room." He said, without another word or another glance, he started walking back, his legs felt heavy like lead, he really wanted to eat something but right now he thinks he is going to puke. He wanted to explain to Janus what was that all about, he is probably confused, but what is the point, he is probably one of those rich brats, judging him without trying to get to know him.

Janus nodded, only half listening. It wasn't that he wasn't interested but his eyes were trying to take in everything around him as well. Asking directions was embarrassing enough in towns, let alone in college.

"I..."

Whatever he was going to say was forgotten when Erich seemed to squeak. His bright eyes looked at the newcomers with a mix of disgust and disdain.
The very attitude oozing from them caused an instant dislike to be formed.

He stood in confusion, briefly his attention focused purely on the other as the angry tears ran down his face. God he hated this...the way people could treat another.
He let Erich past, lost in thought for a moment.

"You know," he said clearly, not making any move to follow him "those kind of asses aren't worth the space they take up..." He wanted to say more but the fear of being overheard by anyone stopped him. He took a step away. "Uhm..."

He didn't want to say it. Saying if we wanted to talk he'd listen sounded...off? With a sigh he turned to continue. He didn't feel like getting lunch. He never ate at any set time, often too caught up in what he was doing to remember unless someone reminded him. It was easier to graze at random hours and didn't seem to do any harm.
Noticing a blonde female smile towards him he gave a small one in return. She was pretty with, as his classmates would say, curves in all the right places but women weren't really his thing. Not that he would let that be known...he could imagine what that would open up.

Hearing footsteps behind him he noticed her follow, slowing to allow her to catch up. Company was company.

"You in Ms. Brown's art class?" She asked in a singsong voice "cause she's cool...and if you are then I may as well introduce myself. I'm Meghan."

"Janus and yeah..." He looked at the floor, speaking quietly "glad to hear she's not a tyrant. My last teacher was."

Meghan chuckled and remained by his side, chattering about the normal trivial college issues and gossip. He listened with half an ear, interjecting with a nod or a 'uh huh' as she continued.
It came as little surprise when she sat down on the grass next to him. Interested or not it was nice to have someone around for a while.

He stopped in his track for a minute when Janus said something. It was a bit of comfort. But running into Samuel made him defensive again, and angry at the world since at the mansion he cannot voice out his feelings, let alone express himself he had kept it all bottled up and it was exhausting. He went back to their room, and look around. He saw the little bathroom they have in their little space, he squeezes in there and didn't bother to close the door a little sign of rebellion. He unbuckles his belt and took himself out and stroking himself until he diverted all his frustration at that act he let out a satisfied moan as he came in surges of cum, and emptied it all in the toilet. The little bathroom held the stench in the air, he washed his hands in the sink, and then his face. Somehow that made him feel better.

He didn't know if he should apologize to Janus but then he didn't think it was necessary. He went to his assigned desk and grabbed his sketch pad he is probably not as good as Janus, he hasn't taken any classes on it but it was his favorite past time when he was in high school, back then he felt freer since he has no "brothers" in the same school as he is, but now, he might run into any of them at any time, mostly Samuel but he knew he had one brother who is also an art student.

He tore out an art piece he made a long time ago. It was a sketch of a man working construction and manning the jackhammer it was early morning and there was that billow of dust surrounding him that made a form of wings so it looks like he has wings. A human angel. He didn't write anything but put it on Janus's bed he somehow knew that Janus would know it was his way of apologizing and grabbed his books and decided to take the other route to find his class, he would ask directions, but his eyes were on a lookout for Samuel and his friends, he didn't want a repeat performance of earlier, it was exhausting.

Janus had been sketching idly, half listening to Meghan as she spoke. She seemed nice enough but she could certainly talk...he doubted he could get a word in even if he's wanted to.
She had been detailing practically her entire history, right now they were up to her high school years.

"...and so I ended up going to the dance with the guy everyone thought was a total nerd," she plucked a blade of grass and leant back against the tree they were sat under "and actually I think I had more fun, just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover." She knotted the green stem, flicking it away as she looked at him "you don't say much do you?"

"Can't," Janus glanced up from the drawing, the dust from his pencil staining his fingers, giving her a small lopsided smile "you're doing it all..."

Meghan laughed, a tinkling sound like a chorus of silver bells. "Sorry. I guess I do go on a bit. Believe it or not I'm the quiet one in our family, maybe that's way I talk people's heads off if I get the chance when I'm away."

"Maybe. But it doesn't matter." The clock chimed loudly and he gathered up his things. "I'd best head off though. I've got stuff to organize back in the dorm. Guess I'll catch you later."

Meghan nodded and got up, dusting he grass from her clothing. "Sure will. Probably in class now."

With another small smile Janus headed back inside and towards his first class. His mother insisted he take another, just in case art didn't take off.
History was OK...at least the ancient eras. He just hoped he didn't have any jerks in class. He didn't know if he could hold his tongue after earlier.

Samuel was on his way back to class when he saw the guy with Erich earlier. He liked. Yes, he did liked Erich before when he was still just one of the hired help. But now that he had to treat him like a brother or rather one of them, it is no fun anymore when he can take advantage of anymore.

When they were kids it was so easy and convenient. He felt like a hero, he can give Erich a discarded toy or clothes he feels like he wants to discard, and Erich would just be in awe to receive something almost new or really new and little Erich would be so hesitant to accept it thinking he might get in trouble with his mom, since his mom would often just make him give it back. But now that the bitch of their governess had conceived a bastard son from their father, their father was all so willing to make this bastard one of them.

Believer. That is the keyword their father wants them to be. Four sons, now added a low life, bottom feeder help as their new brother, their father thought they should believe that they can be happy, that after all, Erich is no stranger to them. Erich is sort of not on board about this, that is one thing the brothers sort of like about this since he seems to be more rational or rather he hated his mom now like they do if it wasn't for her life would still be merry and fun like the old times.

He strode purposely towards Janus and invaded his face, knowing it would grate on the man. "Stay away from Erich, he is not the goody two shoe you think he is. He is nothing like the bastard son of our maid, now he thinks he is one of us. Do it or deal with the consequence." he said, before pushing him and started to walk away.

Janus started at the sudden voice and invasion of space, taking a step back into the wall, the notice board digging in his back.

"Didn't he was a goody two shoes," he replied after listening in bewilderment to the words Samuel spat. They didn't make much sense. "And all I can say is being a bastard son is better than just being a bastard in general and that's how you come across."

He adjusted his bag which was slipping off his shoulder yet again and moved to the door, resting his hand on the handle.

"Why not take your own advice? You don't like him then ignore him and stop acting a dick?"

Pushing open the door to the classroom he didn't care whether he'd got the right room or not. He could put up with being laughed at like that.
He wanted to be out the way before h said anything else. He could defend others but rarely himself, it had been his downfall before.

Erich never felt so tired in his entire life. Not even working at the mansion and doing manual labor he can be tired but not exhausted, he was actually, mentally drained. He just cannot figure it out. He didn't want this so how all the male brood except for the senior Glass is giving him a hard time. Do they want him to give up or ran away? Either way, he was better off if he did give it all up and just go and leave.

But at the back of his mind, no he didn't want to give up not because he wanted to honor his mother's wishes, but he wants to do what HE wants. Not what everybody wants him to do but do what he wants to do. Which is to get to a good college and get a degree and get a better job to be able to move out of the mansion. His father, well, his former employer turned father is a good man, he's got nothing against him, he is still the same, and he could tell he is not faking it, he really is a good man. So somehow in the back of his head, he wanted Glass to be proud of him since most of his other step sibling brood haven't done a good job so he wants to prove them to be a failure.

He sighed. He just have to warn his room mate, he was planning to say to him, but then, he wanted to test him, to see if he really is a nice guy, or he is just trying to get on his good side and make him a lab rat like his "brothers" had done with him their entire lives. This time, he would use his right, his birthright to stop them.

Class went as well as could be. It was fairly interesting even though the Civil War wasn't his sort of thing, he'd studied that enough in middle school.
But whatever, it wasn't his main class, just another piece of paper for progression in life.

Shoving his stuff away he headed back up to the dorm room, hoping to work on some of his sketches before he had to go anywhere. And avoid any more of Meghan's inane chatter, she was sweet enough. She just talked too much. Reminded him of one of his cousins actually.

Pushing the door open he smiled slightly to see Erich.

"Hey...how's your day go?" He asked as he set the bag down. He blue eyes moved to where to paper sat on the bed and moved over, looking at the picture appreciatively. "Thanks, you do this? It's really good.."

Erich was quiet for a moment probably deciphering his emotions. He then looked up and gave him a nod. "I'm not gonna apologize for what I said, I already said and done it is not gonna change anything its already out there." he said and look directly at Janus, "It was shameful of me to have an outburst like that, like I was justifying what Samuel was saying about my class all along, that am nothing but a merely hired help, so what do I know about refinement, I am a brute."

He sighed, "It been a rough few weeks, not that you should care about that, it doesn't concern you, the only way I can get through all of this transition is to convince myself I deserve it, I am a Glass too, I have every right to be here." he added.

"I got nothing else to offer you but something that is mine and mine alone, I wish I can take you out of the equation and uninvolved you, but if it gets too much just let me know and I will probably ask if I can live off campus. Just give me a chance to prove myself worthy to be here," he said as he continues to unpack.

He doesn't have much but he was starting to finally grasp the laws of these kinds of sibling wars.

He was indeed thinking that hopefully they are all home and they will come in here and try to give him a hard time or his roommate a hard time. Because he was really exhausted, very exhausted.

Janus slipped the paper into his sketch book to keep it smooth while he listened. He didn't understand what was going on.
This all seemed like something out of a bad video game. But he didn't say it, clearly it was a problem for Erich and he wouldn't make light of it.

"Look, you don't need to prove worth to me. Regardless of who you are you're a person and you're equal. As for...whoever they are, they're s bunch of jerks like those I put up with in middle school. And high school come to think of it." He paused, looking at the other seriously "so don't worry. When it cones to being here you're more worthy than they are."

He offered a small smile and sat down on his bed, opening his sketches and continuing his newest sketch of a handsome knight and his king.

The whole week had passed like a blur, it was hard, there was a couple of times he almost given up. It was more like in high school when kids would put your clothes in the trash, or throw your bag and school books in the dumpster, but he survived those. But this one, his brothers would have him get beaten up. And they dare him to tell their father, his father would often ask if he was having problems, and he would take of it, but how can he trust any of them, if this is some sort of test? Or baptism of fire, to belong to this family.

He borrowed some books since they had taken his books, and he didn't want to waste his money buying new ones, they broke his laptop, so he is taking notes manually and smart enough to use a voice recorder to take notes just in case he missed part of the lecture, and he never left the recorder in his room, not that he doesn't trust Janus, but he didn't want to involve him and they give him a hard time too.

He was exhausted, taking notes, transcribing when he gets back to his room, especially if he had to do it manually, writing notes, and he had to see if this weekend if he can buy a used laptop so he can finally take notes, even if he had to sleep with it under his pillow or put it under his shirt. He would do anything so they won't take it away from him again.

With a cut lip, and had to tape a shoe that has a hole in it, after they stole all his clothes and books, he was about to give it, when they also stole his wallet with all his savings, and his phone. They were trying to break his spirit but he wasn't about to give up. He had it worse back in high school, they just upgraded to a more sadistic game, he was waiting until they would go too far and might end up killing him.

Janus returned to the dormitory quietly. The week had passed more quickly than he would have thought. Normally he expected it to drag, much like the first weeks at high school.
But perhaps it was because he was actually studying what he wanted, because he wanted to. It made a difference.

For Erich's sake he had tried to turn a blind eye. Not an easy thing to do when one sensed pain and those signs that were all too familiar.
But seeing his blooded lip and the state he was in he shook his head. There was no way he could ignore this.

"OK...that's it," he put his books down on the bed, frowning as the untidy heap slipped and they ended up on the floor. Typical. "Look, this is ridiculous, you can't put up with this shit!" He said as he knelt down to retrieve the fallen papers "this isn't a case of saying man up like with verbal stuff this is serious. And if you won't say anything then I will."

He sighed and looked at him with soft but serious eyes.

"They probably know you won't say anything and they wouldn't know it's me who reports it, so no arguing."

The Glass boys have a reputation to keep, they are well known in the college circuit, after all, most of them are clansmen, their father is an alumnus of a prestigious college, these traditions had been handed down from generation to generation. Scandal is their middle name. So playing a ruthless trick is nothing but just fun even a little killing can be swept under the rug nothing that money cannot cover up, something that Erich didn't know he signed up for when he took on the family name.

They have stolen his mother's urn in the family mausoleum and the only way for him to get it back is to meet with Samuel.

In just a week's time they have broken him and they are just getting started. And what would make the perfect murder but to involve that little prick who is good enough to try to protect their new toy and somehow spoil their little fun by reporting them but of course nothing that a few thousand dollars cannot take care of and forgotten?

And what a perfect way to deal with two problems with just one solution without getting blood in their hands.

They managed to grab Erich, and gotten him molested but almost but not really close enough to get rape by their frat brothers. Got him doped up and they are going to bring in Janus to seal the deal. Of course, they are filming this momentous occasion something to frame Erich and seal his fate as their toy for life.

They told Janus that Erich was in an accident that they need him, and of course, they have Erich blindfolded all this time. And they would have Janus the honor to take that blindfold off. After being molested armed with a concealed knife, that conveniently found its way in Erich's pocket.

Janus was led to the fraternity house, Erich is half naked, covered with semen might still be a virgin but judging from his appearance it was highly unlikely but all the more to mess with them.

"You can take him to the emergency room, you better take him out of here before they came back. They are all out right now. " a freshman said to Janus nervously pointing to the room his brothers told him for him to get his pledge and pledge pin he had to convince Janus that Erich was raped and he discovered him and want to help him. But he needs to get rid of him or take him to the emergency room before his brothers comes back.

Janus was suspicious when they came to him. He made no secret that he didn't like them but concern for his room mate and the knowledge of what they could do urged him to follow.
If it was some sick prank he could report it and if not he may be able to do something.

He was nervous as he made his way down to the frat room, his step noticeably slower.

But seeing Erich he felt ill. Nausea and anger rising in his stomach.

"You didn't bother ringing the police or hospital? Not even clean him up?" Janus looked at them in disbelief "Geez...doesn't take a lot of brains!" He swallowed and moved past to get to the messed up figure. This was going to be reported, to the police and not just the college. "Erich? You...OK?"

A dumb question.
