I don't know why I'm still affected by this. I should be used to it by now. But it still hurts. When you thought you really haven't bugged a person that much, you are just asking but they still didn't even have the decency to at least reply to you that they are no longer interested. I mean how hard can it be to reply? No thank you, I change my mind, I don't think it's going to work. Or just a simple no thanks would really suffice. But no, everyone is the same, even if you think this person is going to be different, they seem like a nice person but I guess I should just not let it affect me. I just wish they would be dealt with the same hand, the person they are chatting with will also ignore them and remind them how much that hurts to do it to other people. But I guess I am just wishful thinking, they really don't care at all.

There done. I said my peace. Time to move on.

People on the internet are like bums on the street. If you stop and talk to them, more often than not you'll regret it. Better to just ignore them and keep walking. Because the world only cares about what it can get from you. People are extractive by nature, unless conditioned to be otherwise by an inclusive community (also known as Gemeinschaft). People are also like water, always taking the path of least resistance. To take the path less traveled, to achieve classical liberty, would require some degree of virtue, which is a thing that is disincentivized in this mouse-utopian age.

That is very deep. Thank you for the comment. I'm better now. Just had to let that out it's hampering my creativity since I'm worrying why they are not replying. But you are right, walk on by. I already moved on.

I think a lot of people take the passive aggressive approach because they are afraid how the other person may respond. Things can escalate pretty quickly online and most of these sites tend to be poorly run and cliquey. So you have a run in with someone who is buds with the Admin/Mod Squad, all you did was say you were no longer interested, next thing you know you are getting hounded by the Admin and his buddies because of some non existent breach of rules.

I've actually had that happen to me although not because I said I no longer wanted to play. I was in a RP with someone on another site, I was open from the discussion stage what I wanted to explore, what I liked etc. We played for a few weeks everything was fine then they started getting upset because of the kink that I mentioned, and they agreed to was in play. They went crying to their Mod buddy and I end up getting hounded. Even though they were attacking me in the thread itself which was pretty confusing as initially I thought it was her character yelling at mine!

Here on Fiction Depot which is a combination of two old sites, we are not like that. We don't flaunt our power around and torment members.

I am a mod and ever since we don't sic on people :) And most of the admins here are also all from the old two sites that joined together and we are not that kind of bunch. That is why I posted this because I don't use my power to do that to other members. I am not like that and I am pretty sure my fellow admins are the same way :) Just letting out some hurt feelings is all, not holding a grudge. They may have their reasons that they don't want to tell me or is not interested in telling me or I might have pissed them off without realizing it. But other than that, I bear no ill will. Just talking is all :)

I didn't notice you were a mod! Anyway, I was just conveying why some people might just ghost rather than have a more up front approach. I have found as well with myself that sometimes there is a delay in a response due to something that has happened in my personal life and when I realize I have to get back to someone a week or more may have passed. The longer the delay becomes the more awkward or weird etc it gets to start responding to the person.

Lots of variables.
