So I've kind of come up with this idea that just won't leave my head, and I would love to gauge to see if anyone would be interested.

Just a Whisper is a present-day brothel/BDSM club, hidden deep in the belly of Los Angeles under the guise of an overly exclusive hotel. Originally designed as a hotel by a mob boss for his associates to have a discrete place to stay and play when visiting, it eventually turned into an exclusive club run by a very wealthy, but unknown financial powerhouse. The main floor has a large restaurant and bar that one only has access to if you have a membership, where men and women can meet the employees and choose their pleasures for the evening.

The employees of Just A Whisper actually live there. The hotel is a twenty floor highrise, each floor divided into six rooms, with three employees to a floor. The employee is given one room as their living quarters, a place that is off-limits to clientele. It is their safe space. The other room provided is a room they get to design themselves, giving a life to their 'personas' they often take on for their clients. Everyone is unique.

The employees can range in any ways imaginable; Dom, Sub, Straight, LGBTQ, even furry or whatever the employee believes will keep them from being fired but still enjoy their lives.

The main employee rule at Just A Whisper, though: You absolutely CANNOT make any sort of committed relationship, especially with a fellow employee. If you do, you are fired and left with absolutely nothing--because let's be honest, it would be difficult to try and go around looking for a new job when your main resume job would be working for such a place that seems to have no rules.

What I'm Thinking:

I would like this story to be centered around the employees. Anyone who wants to write with me in here would have their character as an employee of the Hotel, leaving the clients as NPCs. I think this could make some fun in any aspects: trying to not form more than friendships between each other, teaching each other the ropes (pun intended), and being each other's support in an otherwise very isolating world.

Again your character could be any sort of sexually desirable type.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Comments? Hate mail? Interest?

Would this have those theme rooms? Examples like the boudoir, can be a little peep show going on, one-way mirror with someone trying on clothes or changing out of clothes, something like that, and they like being watched or whatever else they want to happen. I got some ideas if you are interested. :) Just throwing in my two cents in :)

It would be completely up to the character made. Want to make a boudoir type scene for your character? Have at it. Want it to look like a hardcore Dom/me sex dungeon? Go for it. Each room that the employees own would be custom made to how they would like to play/be played with.

So, the setup will probably be a little extensive if you are making an employee (and there would be no limits on character creation--if you want three different specialized employees or even want to play a guest or two, you'll have free reign) because the employee would have to have more of a breakdown of their selves and their basically working persona, with details of what their play rooms would look like.

guests would be super basic character sheets because they're going to come (haha) and go, as the real story is supposed to be not just the front end of the hotel, but the behind the scenes where the employees themselves can unwind. If that makes sense. I'll have details of each part of the hotel that people can roam and any rules, but I just want to make sure that people would be interested in writing in the area before putting in all the crazy effort of building it ^^;

Would you be interested in a sort of floor manager character? I am thinking of the guy who is the face of the owners to the employees. A combination of bouncer, protector, rules enforcer, he hires and fires, he supplies furniture, toys, and keeps the bar and fridge stocked. he could be a confidant and quasi friend, but always known that he is the boss.

Now this is a RP so obviously he won't be firing people unless that is agreed on. so would lead to a good bit of compromises, offers and counter offers. He may even partake of the various employees talents time to time on slow periods.

So does it sound like a character you might want?

Also be glad to be NPC customers, I just don't do MxM sorry.

I'm guessing that for the employees, or let's just call them courtesans just to be polite. They'd each have their own reasons for working in such a place? For example one might be paying off debts while another might be there of their own volition.

And yes, as is the case with group RPs that for example allow for character death, both parties must agree on the firing of any employee. Unless that person drops out entirely and the characters are simply written out.

@~NekoUke~ precisely. They're also not prisoners lol--they're allowed to go out on their nights off, having vacation days, etc. But it is probably stipulated in their contract that they can't seek out other BDSM clubs or something.

I've been calling them Personas in my setup drafts haha! I like 'courtesans' though--think I'll be making that the replacement word for employee permanently. Thank you!

I'll probably try to setup the Group RP thing today (if anyone has practice on how to go about this, please let me know--really don't want to have to bother staff if I make a mistake). I have come together with a rundown of what is on every floor, what will need to be listed in character sheets, and the list of "Rules" of the hotel (that obviously are meant to be bent and pushed but hey--maybe there are a few courtesans who are very strict about the rules).

I'll also have at least one (maybe two) characters completed so that everyone can get a feel for both templates.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this works and writing with you all! :giggle:

My only question about all of this is about the 'customers'. If they're NPCs, then who will be playing them? I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I think it needs to be cleared up.

Also I'm thinking of doing a character who is kind of like a receptionist/security with a serious voyeuristic kink (they like watching if they can). Thoughts?

@DemonHuntress12 NPCs I usually term as basically you can write them. I know that doesn't seem as fun, but if it is more the purpose of developing your character and you want it a particular way, then yeah you'd make an NPC for that.

But I was kind of hoping that there may be enough writers in the mix so like... If I took on two characters: one a client and one a courtesan but both have kinks for bondage, I could have both characters satisfied with hopefully other writers who would create a client who also enjoys to tie up women or a writer creating a courtesan who is dominant could help my client character be more submissive.

Does that make sense...?

Um, trying to think of how I can explain this better...

My Courtesan character would be a rope bunny whose persona name is Angel (giving off an innocence vibe so that clients could play with her thinking they're stealing her innocence or whatever their kink may be).

But I could also make a Client character, call her... Maggie, who is VP of HR of a very high end company, who is looking for a courtesan who would treat her like a submissive since she has to be "on and in charge" all the time outside of the hotel.

Does that help...? 😅

Of course you don't have to take on multiple characters, but also don't feel you have to limit yourself to only one.

Ah I think I see, I guess I was thinking more along the lines of one on one with one person playing a courtesan and another playing a client

Which, if we end up with enough writers who are flexible with multiple characters, we totally can. I just see the clients being less in the spotlight--their character profiles would be very basic because the real story is for the courtesan and how they live their lives in the hotel.

The clients will come and go--the courtesans will be a more permanent fixture lol.

I have offered to play clients as well. I just don't to MxM. So if you wanted a certain type of client I would give it a go. I imagine others would as well? Once they see characters and are enticed :devilish:

Ah now you've really got my attention. I'm imagining a courtesan who frequently flaunts some of the more flexible rules more often than not and it drives another courtesan, who is quite the stickler, insane from frustration.

Absolutely no pressure! That’s why I hadn’t actually listed a bio as a requirement for the sheet. The bio can build the more everyone writes, revealing aspects of their characters lives prior to being employed at the Hotel :)

I mean... that’s my plan at least with Angie lol!
