Pledging money to maintain the site through a LLC

A couple users have brought up raising money as a potential solution. I'm not against this as an option.

However we'd need a pledge of ~$700/year to cover the expenses of setting up and maintaining a LLC.

- $25/month virtual office with actual offices = $300/year
- $15/month for banking = $180/year
- $125/year for registered agent
- $100/year in annual filings

I'd cover the initial setup which is $400-500.

So if only 2 users are interested in this option we probably aren't doing this realistically.

Give it more time. Not everyone is online every day, and I daresay that not many people pay attention to new announcements all the time. I bet many people haven't seen this yet.
Speaking for myself, when I get online I tend to only check my rps and the request forum and don't pay much attention to other forums unless I'm waiting for posts and don't have anything else to do but browse around.

That's fair. But we'd need ~12 users donating $5/month.

How long do you want to leave it open? I'm not trying to rush anyone.

Hmm, maybe until the end of the month or so?
It's too bad that there is no way to highlight important announcements or make them otherwise more noticeable.
Do people check discord announcements more often than the announcements here? If so, it might be worth to write there, too.

Will be looking into if I can increase my own donation back to where it was now that I am working.

I will gladly donate some, but I cannot do it until the end of the month, when I get my paycheck.

As for raising awareness: If people want this site to stay alive, they need to do something about it, quite simply :b So post some more about it, send e-mails etc. If possible.

If I might give a suggestion, maybe we could set up some kind of referral system for attracting new members? I know a fair number of us have a presence on other sites, and I've seen blue moon do something similar with handing out 'invite' links.

I'm not sure what to do to set that up but if we continue the site, I'll look into it.
