Hello Everyone,

I am also interested in participating, and I have been speaking with Knight via PM about my character. I came across the thread again and noticed that you all were shooting ideas and such, so I thought that I should let you all know who I'm interested in playing:

1464
Name: Jennifer Lynn "Jennie" Munroe(Hayden)
Codename: Jade
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Appearance: 5'11, 140lbs, athletic but curvaceous, green skin and eyes, dark green hair, and a star-shaped birthmark on her left hand.
Personality: Jennie has high energy and a thirst for life, that leads her to seek out challenging experiences that can push her to new limits. She is very driven and curious and has a strong sense of justice. Jennie could be very ambitious and thrive in a competitive environment, whether it’s intellectual or physical. At times she can be quite hot-headed, and given her propensity to seek out justice, Jennie can often find herself in a lot of heated arguments, defending not just herself but also for the people she cares about. Sarcasm is her best friend and uses it regularly.
Powers/Skills: Jennie controls the power of the Starheart. This provides energy manipulation powers such that she can affect the entire spectrum, including gravitation, light, heat, and radiation. She also can create solid light constructs in virtually anything she can devise (and thus is limited only by her will.) These abilities include flight, intangibility, invisibility, and force field projection. The Starheart also granted her specific mental skills such as hypnotism, astral projection (during which she can attack ghosts) and limited telepathy. The Starhearts only weakness is wood. Later in life, Jade developed chlorokinetic abilities. She can synthesize sunlight as a source of energy (due to the presence of chlorophyll in her system). She is a skilled fighter in hand and hand combat, Black Window being her mentor.
History: Jennie is the daughter of the Alan Scott and Rose Canton. After giving birth to Jennie and her brother Todd(also known as Obsidian), the two were given up to Xavier's school as Rose (at times a dangerous vigilante) was afraid she would harm them. Rose kept Alan a secret to the X-Men and faked her death, in fear that her evil persona might manipulate her family in any way possible. It was under these circumstances that the twins became Jennifer Lynn and Todd Munroe, adopted by Storm who fell in love with the twins at first sight but never hid the truth of their birth mother. Todd accepted Rose's decision, but Jennie felt the opposite. She felt disowned and refused to use her plant abilities because of it. As Jennie grew, she came to realize she was different by the green hue of her skin, and upon realizing why she had a star-shaped birthmark on her left hand, Beast performing multiple tests to find that the Starheart power surrounded her. The twins then knew their father is or was a Green Lantern, but it was still unknown to them that it was Alan Scott. They then decided to explore the possibilities but, sadly during their plans, Todd's abilities also grew, including the birth of his evil persona, Obisidan. Todd found himself harming those close to him, especially his sister Jennie and soon after took his own life to save his loved ones. Her brother's death caused Jennie to lose interest in her past and focus on what was more important-her adopted family and their cause. Jennie decided that there are other people in the universe like her brother and made it her life goal to help those in need. She became the hero people needed and pursued to join a new team that shared the same vision.

I'm still working out the kinks for her history, but this is what I have thus far. I see that Knight is looking for a few more male characters so if anyone would want to take on the role of Todd that would be fine. We can work out their history together.

I am interested in playing Todd James Munroe aka Obsidian.

14691470

Name: Todd James Munroe
Code name: Obsidian
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance: Todd Munroe is 5'10". weighting at 193 lbs with an athletic build. Short black spiked hair and brown eyes
Personality: Todd Munroe is an arrogant, cocky, and malicious type of person. He loves to prey on the darkest part of people secrets and thoughts. Always joking around, and seems to undermined authority. Lazy yet determined to stand out among his classmates in Xavier school for the Gifted. He always loves to challenge his twin sister Jade to fights to see who the better sibling, but never gets his way against her. But in the end, Todd will always back up his sister Jade.
Powers/Skills: Todd powers come from his connection with the Shadowlands, which is a realm of darkness. He is able to engulf himself in shadows causing his shadow form and officially becoming Obsidian. The ability of Flight, Superhuman Strength, and Superhuman Stamina, he becomes an unstoppable force to be wreck en with. He has an intangibility, which is great on stealth mission within the school. With the power of the shadows he is able to possess the enemy's bodies and mind and also has the ability construction objects with the assistance of the shadows (which gained the ability from his father Alan Scott). Todd is able to instill fear in any of his enemies with a simple touch. Only "Pure Evil" Villains cannot fall to his ability, such as Solomon Grundy. Todd weakness when he transforms to Obsidian is light. Shadows do not survive in light so being in the sun in his shadow form does more damage than his human form. He also suffers from schizophrenia, which he takes medication for. He keeps his mind sane with the medication and avoid losing complete control of his abilities. He suffers from his due to his mother (Rose Canton) condition before Todd and Jade were born.
History: Todd James Munroe is the son of Alan Scott and Rose Canton. Also is a twin brother of Jade. At a young age, both Todd and Jade were taken to the Xavier's school for the gifted by Rose. and was told that they would need to stay to develop their powers and become strong heroes. Storm fell in love with Todd and Jennie instantly and promised Rose that she would take care of them both as if their were her children. Over the course of time, Todd and Jennie would told the truth, by Storm why Rose really left them at the school. Todd understood why his mother Rose left them both him and Jennie, but still felt as he could of helped with his mother's Condition. Growing up, Todd had a hard time learning to control his powers from the Shadowlands. It became a huge problem that Todd ended up almost destroying Xavier's School. With the help of Jean Gray as the Phoenix and Storm , Todd was able to calm his mind and control his true power from the shadowland. Todd is still learning on to control his powers, while still having little spurts that he is able to maintain with the medication that was provided. Once Todd got older, he ended up taking his life because of the shadows altering of his thoughts. The story states he killed himself, but that is what the school as told to the public...

Jenibee124 hope we can work on this more. You got me really interested into Obsidian past and future.

Yeesh, how do I have a thread on watch and somehow not get all the emails (which is how I usually keep up with things when I'm busy with work). Got today off so I'll go through what's new and message people about characters and whatnot. Sorry for being a little slow folks. Busy busy. But I'm really glad to see all the people interested in this!

Name: Pamela Lillian Isley
Codename: Poison Ivy
Gender: Female
Age: 26

Appearance: Poison Ivy looks younger than she appears due to the effects of the toxins she was exposed to, main defining features being her pale complexion, crimson hair and bright green eyes. Being as curvy as she is Pamela knows she is gorgeous and will wear attire to suit it, mostly seen in tight dresses, pants and tops to her professional clothes where she dresses for school hours that include pencil skirts and tight fitted blouses. Though she has put her criminal history behind her to join Dick in teaching she still has her notorious green outfit, gloves and boots.

Personality: She prefers to be called Pamela or Ivy, however thanks to a certain blonde she has taken a liking to Red which other than Dick and Beast not many use considering they don't know her that well. She is as intelligent as she is sultry, always well spoken in the way that she tends to use more professional speech. Pamela comes off as cold but she does this to not allow anyone close to hurt her again as her professor did, only allowing a select few to see the warm, kind and caring side she has.

Powers/ Skills:
  • Trained botanist
  • Secretion of floral toxins and mind controlling pheromones
  • Immunity to toxins and pathogens
  • Plant manipulation via connection to the Green
History: For years she has spent stealing and terrorizing people for her goals, it takes a toll on a girl. Her final straw was another fight with Harvey Dent or Two Face as he was now known as, after years of being on and off trying to kill each other and next minutes kissing each other she was done. After years Batman had notified Nightwing Pamela had left Gotham, wondering if his ex sidekick could find her. After months he managed to find her by tracking the last of her plants being uprooted and shipped to where she was hiding, in a old conservatory outside of Metropolis which she had converted into a greenhouse to nurture her babies.

The only violence Nightwing was met with was Ivy's giant mutant vine restraining him and Ivy slapping him across the face when he tried to cut it to pieces to free himself. Ivy released him and she then told the man she was done being a villain hence why she left Gotham and that she wished him to leave and never come back. It was then Nightwing gave her an option to help teach, to give people awareness of nature and in a peaceful manner. She could also continue her research in peace without Harvey trying to win her back or kill her depending on his moods.

She accepted and made friends with Beast quite quickly, even building a bigger greenhouse where she could work and teach the students. Beast even helped her with one of her personal problems when it came to dating, yes it was just kissing but to her it meant being able to show her affection without accidentally killing someone, in which Beast was the first to receive a thankful kiss from her without the deadly after effects.

Would Venom's biology provide an immunity to Ivy's toxins if he should come into contact with them? Considering symbiotes tend to be akin to super suits in some situations.

Venom would provide some/complete resistance because human poison, presumably, doesn't work well on alien physiology I'd imagine.

As an added note:

Venom - Looks pretty good to me. I don't mind alignment changes really. Though, as a fun fact, if you wanted to make Venom not an alignment change as a good guy there's always Flash Thompson Venom aka Agent Venom. He was a pretty cool character as I recall.

Kate Kane - Katherine is alright though she would raise an interesting issue. She's too old to be a student but as a teacher's assistant/teacher she'd be outranking Nightwing, who is supposed to be the team leader. I'm not saying it can't work but I will say it'll be a little rocky. I'll think on it some more and try to PM you a couple of different ideas so we can make it work. I like the character, and clearly you do to, so I'd love to make it work!

Obsidian - As long as you and Jenibee are workin' together on the history since you're siblings I don't see much of a problem here.

Ivy - Also nothing to report here. She looks good.

If everyone who posted a character is invested then that would mean the team would look something, loosely, like this:

Leader - Nightwing
Co-Leader (or something like it, title pending) - Batwoman
Members - Jade, Obsidian, Venom, Iron Heart, Starfire, Ivy

Which isn't a bad team for the start I think.

Sounds good with me, I don't think Kate would conflict with something Nightwing decided to start up unless she absolutely had to do something to save the team, which is the responsibility of a co-lead anyways so it kinda works out. She'd likely just do her best to assist any struggles he has if necessary and ensure everyone stayed alive and learning properly according to her basis, probably helping to fund the training centers an such as-well since she's so wealthy.

Another fun fact is that the team is 3 Guys and 5 girls which actually isn't a bad spread all told. So cheers to you all for that.

I'll probably get the thread made up tomorrow but if anyone wants to get some basic plotting or just general character connections made up with Mr. Grayson I'd be happy to oblige. He's been at the school for a little while so he's known. And as Nightwing he's certainly known in the hero community.

Not sure if Dick and Eddie would have some kind of friendship or not. Their personalities might clash, but I'm not sure, since I haven't seen how you play him.

Given the personality you've got for Venom I could see Dick acting as more of a stabilizer for him. Someone to hold him back from going to wild but encouraging him to follow his instincts too.

I guess it is a relationship to kind of feel out as we go though. If nothing else he'll probably think of him as someone to keep an eye on because the hothead with an alien suit is probably worth keeping an eye on.

I think the two people that might have trouble with befriending the group is Nite and myself. If Nite has a cocky and careless character and it's my character's responsibility to keep him in check, they will be clashing with a lot of people, especially if Jennie has to defend her brother.

I can totally see Eddie hitting on Jade (whether or not it works) frequently, and just as frequently getting into fights with obsidian.

It could be iffy for anyone to truly get along with Batwoman/Kate, she has odd social issues in the end, and when she's in the bat suit, she's just like Batman in personality, brutalness and unique to her, that cold smirk she gives to bad guys, so she'd probably be a strict tutor when helping Grayson with things. I'd imagine her as a bit of an extra failsafe if things went wrong, came under big attack, and other type ordeals, since she's very good at planning out things similar to Batman to handle problems.

Then I could only imagine Kate's relationship with Todd. I can't wait to see this all play out. Lol.
